Comparison
MacDuty vs Sayob
MacDuty and Sayob compared for a dedicated Mac mini: the same M4 and M4 Pro plan by plan, the M5 Pro and M6 they do not sell, and where their Mac Studio wins.
Updated 2026-10-16
Sayob rents dedicated Apple silicon in Europe, alongside AMD EPYC servers, VPS and NVIDIA DGX Spark machines. Their Mac line is the M4, the M4 Pro and a built-to-order Mac Studio. If you are weighing the two, the comparison turns on two things: the price of the same M4, and the fact that they do not sell the newer chips at all.
Sayob is operated by Keyfinanz GmbH; MacDuty is AITEST S.R.L., registered and racked in Romania.
The price for the same Mac
Sayob's prices read from its site on 13 October 2026; ours are the catalog's as it stands today. Monthly, in euro, excluding VAT. Neither of us charges a setup fee.
Sayob sells three fixed plans. Matched to our catalogue as closely as the specifications allow:
| Plan | Mac mini | Sayob, monthly | MacDuty, monthly | MacDuty, paid yearly | Saved with MacDuty, monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (M4.S) | M4, 16 GB, 256 GB | €119 | €109 | €87 | €10 |
| Plus (M4.M) | M4, 24 GB, 512 GB | €199 | €129 | €103 | €70 |
| Pro (M4.L) | M4 Pro, 48 GB, 512 GB | €299 | €205 | €164 | €94 |
The Starter is close. After that the gap opens: the last column says by how much, for the same chip, memory and disk. Over a year on one machine, with the monthly price on their side and either of ours on this side:
| Plan | Sayob, twelve months | MacDuty, paid monthly | MacDuty, paid yearly | Saved with MacDuty, paid yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter (M4.S) | €1,428 | €1,308 | €1,044 | €384 |
| Plus (M4.M) | €2,388 | €1,548 | €1,236 | €1,152 |
| Pro (M4.L) | €3,588 | €2,460 | €1,968 | €1,620 |
One thing to read carefully on their page: the specifications marked with an asterisk say the lower value is guaranteed and your server may be provisioned with the higher configuration at the same price. So the Starter may arrive with 512 GB instead of 256, and the Pro with 64 GB instead of 48. It may also arrive with what you paid for. Our catalogue sells the exact configuration you pick.
Then the generations Sayob has no Mac mini for, at the entry build of each, from our catalogue:
| Mac mini | Sayob | MacDuty, monthly | MacDuty, paid yearly | MacDuty, one day |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| M1, 8 GB, 256 GB | not offered | €65 | €52 | €7.99 |
| M2, 8 GB, 256 GB | not offered | €75 | €60 | €8.99 |
| M5 Pro, 24 GB, 512 GB | not offered | €189 | €151 | €21.99 |
| M6, 16 GB, 256 GB | not offered | €128 | €102 | €14.99 |

Where Sayob is genuinely better
- A 25 Gigabit port. Every Mac of ours sits on a dedicated gigabit port, whatever Ethernet socket the box carries. If you are moving large render or dataset volumes, that is a real difference and not a small one.
- A Mac Studio. Up to a 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU, 128 GB of unified memory and 16 TB of storage, built to order. We rack Mac minis. If your model does not fit in 64 GB, we cannot help you and they can.
- NVIDIA DGX Spark alongside the Macs. If your work is part Apple silicon and part CUDA, one supplier covers both.
- A private network up to 40 Gbps on their built-to-order tier, for clustering.
- They may give you more than you paid for. Their asterisk works in the customer's favour when stock runs that way.
Where MacDuty is better
- Price, once you pass the entry plan. The same M4 with 24 GB and 512 GB, the same M4 Pro with 48 GB, and the saving column above says by how much, month by month and over a year.
- The newer chips. Sayob's Mac mini line stops at the M4 Pro. The M5 Pro and the M6 are in our catalogue with their ship dates; both are in the third table above. If you want the current generation in a Mac mini, they do not sell it.
- The older chips too. The M1 and the M2 are in the same table. If the job is a build runner that does not need an M4, you are paying Sayob for a chip you will not use.
- Every memory and disk in the catalogue, instead of three plans. You pick the memory and the disk; we do not round you up to the next plan.
- A yearly rate. Paying yearly takes 20% off with us. Their page says monthly rates, no commitment, which is honest and also means there is no discount for committing.
- Billing by the day. The day price of every build is in the third table and on its card. Their shortest term is a month.
A word about stock
Our catalogue shows availability live. A configuration marked ready is racked, charged at checkout and goes out on order. A box Apple has not shipped yet can be pre-ordered, with nothing charged until it is racked; for the rest, the way in is the notify list.
Check Sayob's own availability before you decide anything on this page.
Moving from Sayob
A dedicated Mac carries nothing proprietary: root, SSH, and a physical machine on both sides. Carry over your Xcode installation, keychain and signing certificates, SPM and CocoaPods caches, and your runner registration.
What to check before you move. Any of these is a reason to stay:
- Whether anything in your pipeline needs more than 1 Gbit/s.
- Whether you are on the Mac Studio or the DGX Spark.
- Whether you are relying on their private network for clustering.
- Self-hosted GitHub Actions runner on a Mac mini, if the runner registration is the part you are moving
- Mac mini clusters over Thunderbolt 4, what clustering looks like in our racks

Questions
- Is MacDuty cheaper than Sayob?
- On the entry M4, by a little. On their Plus and Pro plans, by a lot more, for the same hardware; the first table has the figures, month by month and over a year. Prices exclude VAT on both sides; theirs were read on the day in the note above, ours are the catalog's today.
- Does Sayob rent the M6?
- Not as a Mac mini. Their line is the M4, the M4 Pro and a built-to-order Mac Studio. The M5 Pro and the M6 are in our catalogue with their ship dates.
- Who has the faster network?
- They do, with 10 and 25 Gigabit options. Every Mac of ours is on a dedicated gigabit port.
- Can I get more than 64 GB of memory?
- Not from us; the Mac mini tops out there. Sayob's built-to-order Mac Studio goes to 128 GB.
- Can I rent a Mac mini for a week?
- With us, yes, we bill by the day. Sayob sells monthly.
