What you get

Included with every Mac.

Every Mac mini we rack comes with the same setup, whatever the chip.

  • The whole Mac is yours

One Mac mini, one customer. No virtual machines and nobody else on it.

  • macOS, ready to use

The latest macOS, installed fresh on every Mac, or an older one on request before handover, as far back as the chip allows. Add your SSH public key in the client area and it reaches the Mac within minutes.

  • SSH and remote desktop

Log in over SSH or open the desktop with macOS screen sharing, from the first minute.

  • A fast, dedicated port

A dedicated gigabit port on every Mac, with a public IPv4 and IPv6 address.

  • Restart and reset the password yourself

Restart the Mac, reset its password and manage its SSH keys from the client area, at any hour, without a ticket. A reinstall of macOS, on request through support, because it erases the Mac.

  • The real desktop

RustDesk, the smoothest, with a server of its own on your Mac, from Mac, Windows, Linux or a phone. Or Screen Sharing from a Mac and a VNC client on Windows and Linux.

  • Failed hardware replaced

If the Mac fails, we replace it with the same model, and we tell you when. Data on the failed Mac cannot be moved, so keep your own copies.

Hosted in Europe
  • Racks in the EU.

The Macs and everything on them are in the European Union.

  • GDPR.

Your data is processed under the GDPR. A data processing agreement is available on request.

  • Nothing leaves the EU.

Nothing is copied outside the Union.

Four more, 2020 to 2026

The other generations.

Same racks, same setup, a different chip.

Before you pick

Frequently asked questions.

The ones people ask before the first month. Anything else, write to us below.

What do I get?

A Mac mini in our racks, yours alone, with macOS installed and SSH and remote desktop access. We keep it powered, cooled and connected. You use it like a Mac on your desk.

How is it billed?

By the day, the week, the month or the year, in EUR or USD, at the same price when you renew. A day and a week follow the Mac's month, less on a smaller Mac and more on a bigger one, except where a build has a price of its own; each build's card shows its day and its week, with a 24-hour minimum for a day. A year costs at least 19% less than paying monthly and is paid once.

Is hosting macOS allowed?

Yes. Apple's licence allows macOS on Apple hardware rented to one customer for at least 24 hours at a time. There is no virtualisation in between.

How fast is it ready?

Builds marked in stock are handed over within minutes. In three days means we have the Mac but it is not yet racked. The 2026 Macs reach our racks from 9 October and are handed over in order of request.

Are there snapshots or backups?

Not yet. Backup to S3 storage arrives with the 2026 Macs, as a separate service with its own price per terabyte, and this page will say so the day it is on. Until then, back up to your own storage.

Which generations are there?

Every Mac mini with an Apple chip: M1, M2 and M2 Pro, M4 and M4 Pro, M5 Pro and M6. There is no M3 and no plain M5 Mac mini, because Apple never made them.

Can I use a remote desktop?

Yes. From a Mac, use Screen Sharing with your user and password. From Windows or Linux, use TightVNC or TigerVNC with the VNC password. SSH is on from the start.

Which macOS versions can I run?

The latest macOS, installed fresh. If you need another version, ask before we hand the Mac over and we install that one instead. How far back depends on the chip, because no Apple silicon Mac runs a macOS older than the one it shipped with: the M1 from macOS 11 Big Sur, the M2 and M2 Pro from macOS 13 Ventura, the M4 and M4 Pro from macOS 15.1 Sequoia, and the M5 Pro and M6 run macOS 27 only. If you pin a version, turn off automatic updates: we update nothing behind you, but macOS keeps offering it, and an update you did not mean to take can end a test run.

What if the Mac fails?

We replace it with the same model, and we tell you when. There are no snapshots and data on the failed Mac cannot be moved, so keep your own backups.

Is there a KVM or out-of-band console?

No. You restart and reset the password yourself from the client area, at any hour. If macOS will not boot, the way back is a reinstall of macOS, on request through support, because it erases the Mac. A disk encrypted with FileVault stops at a password prompt on every boot that nobody can type, so leave FileVault off.
